BACtoberfest Bike Tour What a weekend. Mother Nature was on our side for Adventure Club and a Fall Bike Tour.
BAC Cycling Diva Rose Nowak organized BAC’s first-ever Fall Bike Tour. Fifteen riders enjoyed a 50 mile trip from BAC to Knaebe’s Munchy Crunchy Apple Orchard in Rogers City. Another 10 riders completed the full 100 mile tour by biking to Knaebe’s and back. BAC staff and volunteer members logged in nearly 100 hours organizing the ride – promoting it, mapping the course, testing the ride, marking the course, organizing water stations, SAG vehicles, Bike Repair, and even healthy snacks. All proceeds from the ride will benefit the local food pantry.
The 100 Mile Club: Don Clay, Clay Bower, Mike Baird, Cheryl Bates, Stan Mischley, Drew Styma, Randy Bouchard, Ann Timmreck, Susan Thompson and Brad MacKenzie
Always an Adventure at BAC
BAC Adventure Club Diva Kelly Bowlin led a two-hour hike at Chippewa Hills in Ossineke with 20 BAC members and friends. The sights and sounds were amazing – the hikers enjoyed fall colors and a natural spring while burning the calories away on the grueling hills. The hikers were rewarded with a gourmet fall picnic, including a butternut and apple tart.
Rogers City Rocks Boot Camp
Rogers City sure knows how to turn out for BAC Boot Camp. Twenty people recently completed the six-week fitness and nutrition overhaul. The workouts are hosted at the new fitness center next to ARMC Rehab and are led by BAC trainers Julie Hanna and Casey Stutzman. Tracy Paull was the overall winner, losing more than 20 lbs in the challenge. Go Tracy! The entire team set a new standard with the group average of 8.8 lbs and 8.6 inches per persons.
Each participant improved in all three areas – weight, inches and physical testing. Their transformation stories are amazing – from better sleeping habits, increased energy and strength, decreased stress, weight loss and even overall happier attitudes. Rogers City boot campers are fun, supportive and welcome people at all levels of fitness. Everyone succeeds.

Rocky Boot Camp
BAC’s very owner fearless Rocky Leader, Chris Lanciano, celebrated his final Rocky Boot Camp with about a dozen fitness enthusiasts over the last three weeks. He pushed them to extremes with an array of sprints, jumps, weights and a lot of creative movement! Chris leaves BAC for a career in semi-pro hockey… We’ll miss him greatly. He leaves behind an incredible legacy for us to carry out.
Looking for a new challenge? Try Training Camp in November with Casey Stutzman. It kicks off on Monday, November 3rd at 6 a.m. at the East Campus Gym. It meets Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri for two weeks. Each workout is tailored to a specific sport. All levels welcome – just be ready and willing to train like an athlete!
BAC Supports Zonta Walks for Women
More than 50 BAC staff and members participated in the 2nd Annual Zonta Walks for Women to support local breast cancer research and treatment at ARMC. BAC sponsored the walk with a financial donation and helped recruit participants to support the cause. It was a wonderful turnout, beautiful day, and walkers and runners were uplifted in spirit knowing that their energy and enthusiasm was helping a wonderful cause.
