BAC Hits Chicago
Eleven instructors and trainers from BAC spent three days in Chicago attending one of the largest fitness conventions in the country – IDEA Fusion. The participants enjoyed boot camp classes, yoga, Pilates, indoor cycling and rowing from the greatest talents in the industry. The conference offered lectures from top personal trainers, exercise physiologists, business leaders, and nutritionists. TEAM BAC returned at midnight full of energy and ideas and already started putting knowledge into action first thing Monday morning at 6 a.m. boot camp!
Highlights of Conference:
- INDO-ROW – a brand new group indoor rowing class! Tracie, Trina, Kelly, Courtney and Sarah were among the first instructors in the country to participate. BAC will explore the possibility of adding a rowing machine to the club this summer for members to test out!
- Booty Camp – Courtney, Tracie, Laura, Sarah, Trina, Kelly, Patty, Jean and Christine teamed up for lunges, sprints, pushups and laughs during the no-equipment boot camp style class. BAC campers will enjoy the new tricks!
- Yoga Pose by Pose -- Jean and Amy enjoyed an intense two-hour breakdown of 10 yoga poses. They learned new form and technique cues and ways for members to improve their flexibility and balance without risking injury.
- Cycling POWER – Trina, Courtney and Patty felt the sweat flying during a two-hour indoor cycle workshop that focused on maximizing the experience by burning more calories in less time.
- Innovative Programs –Kelly, Trina and Tracie unleashed creative energy during a two-hour workshop aimed at helping club owners and managers create programs that excite community members. This is an area of strength (and passion) for BAC. The BAC leading ladies returned home with wheels turning!
- Strength Training Program Design – Shannon Fable, a national presenter and friend to BAC, led Courtney, Jenya, Patty, Amy, Christine and Laura through a simple system to create powerful, fatiguing group exercise classes with minimal equipment and maximum results.
- TRX – Trina, Tracie and Kelly put their strength to the test in a group TRX class. They learned ways to modify exercises to suit all abilities and to amp up exercises to challenge athletes.
Weekend Fun: Aside from 12 hours of fitness fun, the BAC TEAM enjoyed a lot of team bonding! We caravanned the 8-hour drive, shared hotel rooms, celebrated Kelly’s birthday at an authentic Mexican restaurant, enjoyed a group Cajan-style dinner downtown Chicago, enjoyed an early morning run down Lakeshore Drive, and shopped the Maginficant Mile. What an amazing, fun team!

Turbo Party: ROUND III
Nearly 75 people turned out for BAC’s third Turbo Party at East Campus. Trina, Andrea, Rexann and Tracie led the group through an hour of non-stop punches, kicks and lots of sweat. People of all levels enjoyed the music-pumping workout, including many newcomers! Join us on Monday, May 18th at 5:30 p.m. for the next Turbo Party. Free for BAC members and just $5.00 for friends.
