I am the assistant manager at BAC who wears many hats – from designing programs for clients who are challenged by obesity, to leading walking clubs, to getting to know our members. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Health Fitness in Preventative and Rehabilitative Programs from Central Michigan University and a personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
I love my job – especially the positive people I work with and for. My mission is to make an impact on lives everyday. It is uplifting to work in a business that promotes healthy living. I come to the club to have fun with members and clients while making them sweat!
My involvement in fitness began at an early age. I have always enjoyed sports, including swimming, basketball, volleyball and softball. However I suffered from a bad accident in high school that broke my back and sidelined my sports career. My doctor referred me to physical therapy, and I was very intrigued by the different style of exercise that did not involve sweating and groaning like sports practices. I fully recovered from my injury, but was permanently impacted by what I had experienced and seen during physical therapy. I went to college inspired that I would like to help people live well. I truly believe fitness is possible for people of all ages, health or ability!
Along with many others on our staff, I attended a Personal Training Institute in Orlando and was inspired to keep learning. I was recently certified in yoga and am enjoying the focus inward. I believe in interval training for an optimal cardiovascular workout and fat metabolism. I am interested in a total body workout using the BOSU equipment. The physiological response to the BOSU balance trainer is very impressive and offers athletes and the elderly supreme benefits with not only balance, but unique and multidimensional training that integrates: core training, functional sports training, and explosive power.
My hobbies include hiking, mountain biking, road biking, Yoga, Pilates, running and reading novels.
